Group 2 – Junior National Group
Age Range: 9-14 (Under 9 yrs old, must have Head Coach approval)
Swim Time: 2 – 2 1/2 hrs, including drylands
Attendance Requirements: 75%
Meet Requirements: Must attend all team meets, and state meet if time achieved
Ability Level Requirements:
- Swim 200 yds of all strokes including 200 IM with good technique
- Ability to do all turns correctly
- Ability to properly kick underwater for appropriate races/stroke
- Must be able to swim on intervals and utilize pace clock
Training Goals:
- Build Aerobic Training
- Increase Endurance
- Qualify for State
Group Goals:
- Learn how to train at a high level
- Qualify for State
- Score Points at Team Meets and State
- Build a base suitable to move up to National Group
Practice Schedule
Monday/Wednesday/Friday
4:15pm – 5:00pm Strength (MWF for the 1st month, MW for the rest of the season)
5:00pm – 6:00pm Swim
Tuesday/Thursday
4:15pm – 6:15pm Swim
Saturday
8:00am – 10:00am Swim (beginning September 10th)
Group 2 is designed for the older swimmer, who does not wish to commit to the Group 1 requirements.
