Parents,
Please look over the entries for the upcoming swim meet at UNO on January 21 and 22. Some of you are only swimming on Sunday, so please look over the meet invitation as well to make sure which days your child is swimming.

WARM UPS:
MORNING SESSION 13&UP – LANE 4 DIVING WELL
AFTERNOON SESSION 12&UNDER – LANES 1-4 MAIN POOL
THIS IS AN UPDATED TIMING LIST. WE HAD TO MAKE SOME CHANGES TO THE PREVIOUS LIST. PLEASE LOOK THIS LIST OVER AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHECK TO SEE WHAT TIME YOU ARE SCHEDULED TO TIME. THE TOP CHART IS FOR SATURDAY MORNING AND THE BOTTOM CHART IS THE SUNDAY AFTERNOON. WE ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE ANY TIMERS FOR THE MORNING SESSION.
THEY WILL BE USING BOTH POOLS FOR THE SWIM MEET. USUALLY THIS MEANS THAT THE BOYS WILL SWIM IN ONE END OF THE POOL AND THE GIRLS WILL SWIM IN THE OTHER END.
THE SCOREBOARD END OF THE POOL IS THE POOL CLOSEST TO THE MAIN SCOREBOARD. THE MAIN POOL IS THE POOL CLOSER TO THE WARM DOWN POOL. I KNOW THIS IS VERY CONFUSING IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE POOL SO PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY IN ORDER TO HAVE TIME TO TALK TO THE COACHES AND GET SITUATED BEFORE WARM UPS.
REMEMBER, IF YOU ARE LISTED TO TIME A MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY MUST REPORT TO THE LANE ASSIGNED AT THE ASSIGNED TIME.
Hi,
Below is the link for the TAQ swim meet this weekend. This lists all the events and the kids listed according to their seed time in the meet.

Hi all,
Due to parental concerns I would like to address a few issues again. First, parents are responsible for lining their children up before their races. For our younger swimmers, many swim meets do not have a clerk of course. This means that you must bring your child behind the block and line them up for the race. Again, please have your child come and see their coach before and after their races. This is very important and we want them to get used to doing this now while they are young. We will not have assigned seating at this meet just like the last meet. Please arrive and look for me if you are unsure of where to sit. Please look for other team members as well. The earlier you arrive the better chance you have of sitting in an area with the entire team.
Next, I will let the kids know after warm-ups where I will be durning the meet. I do not know where I will be until I arrive at the pool. There is no assigned seating for coaches and at LSU we do not usually even have tables set up for us. I let the kids know all the things that I have already emailed out to parents after warm ups.
I know swim meets can seem chaotic to new swimmers, but as in everything, practice makes perfect! The more meets you attend the more organized and simple the meet will seem.
If you have any questions or are confused about anything at the swim meet please come and speak to me or one of the other coaches. We are always willing to take the time to explain.
Thank you again,
~Kim
Parents,
A few of you have expressed interest in the reasons why children are disqualified in each event. Below is a link to the most important rules found on USA Swimming. If you would like further information please see the link on our website to the USA Swimming website. In addition, if your child is not entered with a time in an event they previously swam, they were most likely disqualified in that event. If they receive a DQ the time does not get recorded or count. You can check the results for the last meet in the previous post to see if your child was disqualified in any event. If you have any other questions, please let me know! Thanks!
Please follow the link below to the meet results from the Thanksgiving Invitational.

Parents,
Please remember that our next swim meet is this weekend, December 3-4th at LSU. Follow the directions listed below to arrive at the LSU Natatorium:
Coming from East on Interstate 10:
Take I-10 to Dalrymple Drive exit (Exit 156C). Take a right onto Dalrymple Drive and proceed 0.9 miles past the gates of campus until reaching Highland Road. Continue on Dalrymple Drive until reaching Cypress Drive. Veer right onto Cypress Drive and proceed down the hill and follow the road to the right. The LSU Natatorium and the W.T. “Dub” Robinson Tennis Stadium will be located on your left. Park at either the W.T. Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium, the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse or Graham Hall lots. Parking is also available in the LSU Natatorium lot by taking left onto West Chimes Street.
Coming from West on Interstate 10:
1) Take I-10 to the Nicholson Drive/Highland Road exit (Exit 155A). Keep right and turn right onto Terrace Street. Turn left onto Nicholson Drive and proceed 1.5 miles until reaching West Chimes Street. Turn left onto West Chimes Street and continue 0.1 miles until reaching Cypress Drive. Turn right onto Cypress Drive and the LSU Natatorium and the W.T. “Dub” Robinson Tennis Stadium will be located on your right. Park at either the W.T. Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium, the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse or Graham Hall lots. Parking is also available in the LSU Natatorium lot by taking left onto West Chimes Street.
Please remember to check your emails regularly this week for updates and information regarding this and all swim meets. In addition, we will have swim caps at the swim meet if you have not purchased on yet – the latex caps are 5$ and the silicone caps are 10$ (we are currently out of the silicone caps). As in the past meet, please wear a blue or black suit if possible while we work on our team order. However, we will not be strict on the team suit as we have not placed our order yet for the year.
The timing list for parents will be sent out as soon as I receive notification of the number of lanes we are required to time at each session. Remember if you are listed as a time you must let me know ASAP if you cannot time. In addition, you are expected to report to the lane assigned at the time listed to relieve the timer before you.
Also, please come and see me or one of the other coaches if you are confused about anything at the meet. I am more than willing to explain anything to you just as I was at the last meet. I also asked that the kids come and see me both before and after their races at every meet.
If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
Thank you again!
~Coach Kim
